Clashes with Mental's troops are made easier by upgrades, thanks to which we gain access to homing rockets and a powerful laser cannon. We have to constantly move and maneuver between groups of enemies, just like in the Doom series.
This makes that standing still quickly ends in Sam's death. Thanks to this, more than 10 thousand opponents can be on the level at the same time. What's more, the author's Legion system allowed Croteam studio to send huge armies at us.
To balance, the ranks of enemies have been joined by previously unseen monsters, including powerful Zealots and the Processed, who specialize in hand-to-hand combat. We get not only the familiar weapons (including a minigun and a chainsaw launcher), but also new toys such as an automatic rifle. So the game boils down to eliminating hordes of various opponents using a large arsenal of weapons, without any cover or other complications.
